Lots of work getting done

Saturday, 9 April 2011 21:59 by Alexandra

Ok it has been a little while since I had a spare moment to blog. So much has been going on that it is hard to put it all into words but here goes an effort. In the month of March it rained 28 days out of 31 adn things are a little water logged here. In the mean time we have been to one fiber sale, opened three new accounts and re did our website! Oh and if that was not enough we made more Lazy Kates. If you are in Seattle please go to Reneisance Yarns, In Portland Urban Fiber and King City Loopy Yarn and wine bar!

I hired some help to get the web site put together although I kind of knew what I had in mind Nancy Colburn of Artistic Business Solutions really put the vision into action! We could not have gotten everything done without her help. So if you are in need of some help she is a wonderful woman who can listen and then work her magic and you get results. She can be reached at Nancy@artisticbizsolutions.com. She specializes in creating inventory tracking system, Web developement, and retail/display suggestions. She has been wonderful to us so if you have some needs please call her.

While I was in Winston Oregon working on the web site I managed to get this picture of a peach farm. I plan on going back this summer to get some of the fruit.

We are getting ready for several shows over the next few months. We will be doing the Aurora Spinning Fiber sale day on April 23 in Canby Oregon. We will be in Salem at the Northwest Regions Spinning Association Conference from May 19th thru the 22nd. Then we will be at the NW Weaver's Guild Conference at  Willamette University from May 30th to June 5th.

Please come and see us and our product at any of these events!

here are the pictures update!

Sunday, 6 February 2011 09:26 by Alexandra

This was our booth at the Salem Holiday Market right before Christmas!

We want to thank all who came and made this a successful weekend for us.

This was and is Mataniu's xmas gift!

Last weekend we went to Seattle to see my sister and neice. My neice was in her last play as a senior which was the reason to be there. She made her Aunties really proud and was wonderful as were all the other kids. However since we were there we went and did a little site seeing as well. We were disapointed to find that the Pike place fish Market was closed but everything else was fun. This wall was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen really but it seems to attract ALOT of people! Its the wall of chewed gum!

Here I am standing in front of the Totem, as it starts to rain.

Here we are laughing at the car that is in this sculpture!

On sunday after a restful saturday night at the Korean Spa while my sister and neice were busy...And yes I spent more than an hour relaxing and doing nothing but relaxing, I know none of you can believe it! We  went out and took the dog to the beach for a walk. It was really Cold and windy but the rain had stopped and this was our view..

After a short walk we decided that it really was too cold so we went to another Park and saw the fish ladders and the Lochs. It was a beautiful morning although really very cold.

We have been getting ready for Stitches West and are very excited to be there! If you're in the area of Santa Clara you should come and see all the excitement!

New York and more

Friday, 26 November 2010 10:34 by Alexandra

Well as you can tell I have been really busy and caught up in my life and therefore have not posted here in a while. We have had our turkey and ham and all the goodies that come with it! We have gone and done the Black Friday sales and now it is time to get back to business. Here are a few pictures from Rhinebeck New York where we had a great show.

All the trees were changing colors there it was wonderful to see them. In the barn next to us there were a few sheep...

There was lecture about a chinese spinning wheel however we were really busy during that time frame but I did snap this picture the next day.

After the show I spent a few days in the City with my Aunt and Uncle. We had a lovely visit going around the city eating soft pretzels and salted bagels. I had the best visit with no agenda really other than I had an appointment with Downtown Yarns which we now have an account with them. So if your in the city go visit them on Avenue A.

I saw these wigs on the street and just had to laugh and took the picture..

This is my cousin taking me around town before I catch the train to the airport. I had the best weather I have ever had while in the city. It was definately brisk but we had mostly sun all week!

This is the smallest plane I have ever been on!

We had our first snow storm here, everything looked like a Christmas card!

It only lasted two days before the rains came back but it was fun.

We have added five new yarns to our line in the last few weeks! More to come on that. We are getting ready for our next big show in a few weeks in Salem at the Holiday Market at the fairrounds. If you are in need of some great Yarn or some other gifts that will be in our booth we would love to see you!

In this season of being thankful I cannot express my gratitude enough for all the support and love we have recieved this year from all of you. Thank you!

back on the home front

Tuesday, 12 October 2010 09:34 by Alexandra

As I am getting ready to go to New York for the Rhinebeck fiber show and then to NYC for a family visit. Of course I am taking yarns with me to see about opening some accounts there. We have opened two more new accounts here in Oregon. One is in Sisters at this place.

The other account is with Woodland Woolworks..They have been loyal Alexandra's Crafts customers and were the first ones to buy Lazy Kates! Now they will have our yarns as well!

On the way home from Sisters I took the senic route.

As I came over the ridge this is what I saw....

Here is the baby sweater that I made for baby Twila who has arrived this week! This sweater was made out of our Blackberry colorway in Superwash Merino.

More adventures to come stay tuned.
